Product details
- Poised to fulfill the needs of even the most extreme long-range shooters, the Razor HD has the features, build quality and optical performance to extend your maximum capability. Animpressive optical system offers the crisp image quality necessary to pick apart the landscape for targets at extended range, while the 35mm, one-piece tube allows for 125 MOA (36 MRAD) of adjustment to dial them in precisely. No scope in the Vortex line has this much travel, and thanks to the integrated, mechanical RZR zero stop, you can dial all day knowing you’ll always have an accurate, repeatable and solid return to zero between stages or at the end of any range session. A glass-etched, first focal plane reticle makes for quick and easy holdovers, range estimations or calls for correction for a fellow shooter on any magnification.

Box was beat up, battery was already installed and should not have been. So I hope it’s ok for amount of money I payed..

this optic is my first venture into the higher end of the glass market. While I do not have much in the way of experience with Appochromatice glass this scope offers very crisp image throughout the magnification range. The image quality at 20X is essentially the same as it is at 5X. I would say that for the price it offers better features (FFP and 0-stop turrets) than its comparable counterparts from NF and Ziess. My only criticism would be the weight! However, for my purposes weight was not a factor. Words of advise with regard to mounting this superior optic to garner best performance would be to calculate measurements on your mounting surface and order rings accordingly. 20moa rail is what I used as my last scope had a larger objective. Also if you are not familiar with 0-stop tech be sure to follow the instructions for 0’ing the scope precisely. It will save you your frustrations and ammo.

Outstanding scope. I have never spent this much money on a scope before but with such good reviews and such a great warranty, I could not see how I could go wrong. Love everything about it. Very east to “0” in and then reset the adjustments to zero. Great job Vortex! I will follow up in a few months after I have it in the field. Hope this was helpful!

These are the berries. Have the PST FFP’s in 3 sizes and couldn’t be happier. The warranty is literally priceless, and I think they can only offer it because the scope quality is so solid. Only issue I have is that the 2.5-10×32 doesn’t have enough eyepiece and parallax adjustment to provide a clear focused reticle, regardless of the magnification (instead it’s blurry with and without the lighted reticle turned on……and with and without my prescription glasses for myopiaa (ie nearsightedness). The 4-16×50 is less of a problem, and the 6-24×50 has a gorgeous reticle. I have a Razor HD Gen 1, but these PST FFP’s are a huge bang-for-buck.
Just realized this review is for the HD. Just got it, have only looked through it off my back deck. Can clearly read the small lettering on a highway exit sign (with restaurant names) that is half mile away (at least). Haven’t shot with it yet, but looking forward to trying out on a Ruger RPR 308, and a POF 308 20″. Can’t wait.

This is an excellent tactical scope! The overall optical quality of this scope is superior to any other high-end optic I have ever owned or used; the scope is extremely well built; and the windage and vertical adjustments were solid and precise. This scope is capable of shooting the box at 100 yards maintaining sub 1/4 inch MOA and dialing in long range (i.e., beyond 500 yards) shots with the Razor mounted on a custom Remington 700P 300 Winchester Magnum bedded in a McMillan A5 stock was simple complimented by a crystal clear sight picture. I would highly recommend the Vortex Razor HD for tactical or competition use.

This is such a great scope and really great for the money. It comes with scope caps and a level. The only down side is that it is a 35mm tube so you are limited on rings for this. So you might realize that on top of the scope you will spend another $250 on some good rings and base. Also that limits some of the rifle platforms you can put this on, like I don’t think you can get 35mm rings for a Ruger No. 1. But that big tube lets in some serious light and give you a lot of elevation movement in the turrets. This scope is clearer and easier to spot with than some of my shooting buddies spotting scopes. All of that plus the great VORTEX warranty. I love it! Sits on my Rem 700 VTR 308

I bought the HD and received it in short order. The first one had the wrong level in it. I called the supplier who contacted Vortex. Kelly at Vortex contacted me the same day. Kelley had me send the scope back on Vortex’s account. All I had to have was the level but they wanted the box back because they wanted to check there packaging QC. They had the new scope delivered in less than 2 days after I gave them the tracking number of the returned scope. You can’t beat that service. I don’t know of very any manufacturer that sends you a product at this price without getting the original back and checked first.
Now, the quality of this scope is excellent. I currently have it mounted on a 270. I am deciding on a new rifle for long distance target shooting to put in on later. However, I have been having repeatable accurate results with this rifle (.270) at 400-600 yards. The optical clarity is outstanding. The initial sighting was easy and I had the rifle shooting very nice groups in about 5 shots. The turrets are snug and feel very sturdy but are easy to adjust. When I decide on the next rifle this scope is going on it. I will then look for another Vortex product to put back on the 270.
One other note. This scope also does very well in low lighting conditions. I have several area’s where I have targets in low light or shaded area’s. This scope looks right into those areas in dusk and dawn type conditions.

Having recently in the past year I’ve noticed skilled professionals using these scopes. I own several Night Force and Leupold Mark 4’s and the Razor is every bit as well made. I particularly like the 25 MOA per rotation and extras like quality flip up lens caps and the excellent bubble level device. Little add-ons but the sort of necessary items required for serious shooting. The price point is well in a competitive range with the similar featured scopes by the competition. I highly recommend for Hunters or Marksmen the EBR 1 or 2 in MOA reticles. Good job Vortex!
